Dr. Daniel Geelan has been with Avon Dental Group for 26 years and personally knows the positive, life changing impact dentistry can have when as a child he had his own teeth repaired following several sports related injuries. Through the process, he loved that the dental profession was the perfect combination of art, science, medicine, engineering, and social interaction. Getting his smile back had such a profound impact that it became the primary reason for him entering the dental profession himself.
Dr. Geelan is a distinguished graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He completed a General Practice Residency through the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Haven in affiliation with the Yale School of Medicine and the Hospital of St. Raphael. He is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Connecticut State Dental Association, Hartford Dental Society, and is a Certified Invisalign provider.
Dr. Geelan actively participates with various international dental mission projects. Dr. Geelan lives with his wife in Canton and has four children, two of whom now live and work in Boston.
Dr. Gregory Solof has been with the Avon Dental Group since 2002. Dr. Solof is a graduate of Brandeis University and the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He completed a General Practice Residency at Danbury Hospital in affiliation with the Yale University School of Medicine. He was awarded his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2009 and is currently working towards his Mastership award. Dr. Solof is a member of the American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Hartford Dental Society. He is a certified Invisalign provider. As a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry he enjoys placing and restoring dental implants. He lives in Avon with his wife and two children.
Dr. Claire Fagan, DMD, began her journey as a dental assistant at Avon Dental Group in 2007. She earned her degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, with prior studies at the University of Connecticut for undergrad, followed by a GPR residency at Hartford Hospital.
Remaining deeply committed to her profession, Dr. Fagan is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Connecticut Dental Association. She serves as an executive director at the Hartford Dental Society, contributing to the dental community's collaborative efforts.
Actively pursuing her Fellowship at the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Fagan strives for ongoing improvement in patient care. In her personal life, she resides in Simsbury with her husband and son. Outside the dental world, Dr. Fagan enjoys learning tennis with her son, cooking, woodworking, hiking, and travel.
Dr. Ramirez is a Board-Certified Periodontist and Implantologist accredited by the American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implantology. She received her undergraduate training at the University of Puerto Rico, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics. She then received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine, where she was involved in research projects associating periodontal disease with diabetes and cardiovascular disease. After graduation she went on to complete her training in Periodontology and Oral Implantology in a three year residency program at Tufts University. During this time Dr. Ramirez presented at the prestigious Yankee Dental Congress in Boston on the topic of soft tissue (gingival) grafting.
Dr. Ramirez is a member of numerous prestigious organizations including the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology, Massachusetts Dental Society, and the Valley District Dental Society. She also leads a Spear Study Club at her office in Agawam, where several dentists and specialists receive continuing education and collaborate on complex cases. In her free time she enjoys hiking, playing tennis, horseback riding and spending time with her 3 dogs.
